Around 120 people joined us on Wednesday 19th June at Oakengates Theatre to help make our Celebrating Age event a huge success. Lots of people had a go at the many activities on offer, including Aerobics, Bhangra Fitness, Nordic Walking, Tai Chi, Yoga, Mindfulness, Salsa Dancing, Seated Exercise, Walking Netball, Menoga, Short Mat Bowls, Boccia, Curling and Table Tennis. There was lots of information provided by stall holders enabling people to find out about sessions they can join on a regular basis.
We also enjoyed musical entertainment by Side by Side Ukes and singer/guitarist Paul Wallace.
We’d like to thank all the groups and providers that took part in the event, and the volunteers who helped the event to run successfully, including staff from Argos Telford and Fodens Solicitors.
Celebrating Age is supported by a Community Fund grant from Wrekin Housing Trust and the Forum’s Big Lottery Community Fund. It is run by a pertnership of the Fourm with Age UK, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, Wrekin Housing Trust and Telford & Wrekin Council.
The second Celebrating Age event in 2019, Art, Music, Dance & Hobbies, will take place on Wednesday 9th October. More details here.Follow us
