Make Care Fair – Help get the last 20,000 signatures
The care system is letting down older people. It’s ignoring 1.5 million older people who have to struggle each day without the help and support they need to live well. It’s leaving families feeling totally alone in caring for their loved ones. And it’s forcing people to pay enormous and often unfair bills that sometimes mean they have to sell their homes.
Good care allows older people to live with the dignity and independence that we would all want for our loved ones and ourselves.
Age UK’s petition is asking the Prime Minister to produce a plan and timetable to ‘fix care for good’ so that everyone can get good quality care when they need it.
The BBC has announced plans to means-test TV licences for the over 75s. For over a million of the oldest people in our country, television is their main form of company and now it’s under threat.
