Telford and Wrekin candidates answer questions at Election Debate
Election candidates for Telford and Wrekin were quizzed by older people on pensions, adult social care and transport at a hustings in Wellington.
A panel of seven spoke at the event organised by the Forum along with Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, and chaired by Morgan Vine of Independent Age.
The event was extremely well attended, and we heard a broad range of concerns put to candidates by older people.
Heather Osborne, Chief Executive of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, added: ‘The crisis in adult social care is one of our key election issues and so it was interesting to hear the range of views from all candidates on this, and other topics.’
The local hospital campaign featured prominently, and the crisis in adult social care, the plight of carers, and transport links to hospital were also raised. Other questions were heard on education, defence, sight loss, TV licences and the environment.
