New government guidelines state that from midnight on Saturday 13th June, a single-person household will be able to join together with a multi-person household, for a visit or overnight.
The new rules will mean single parents and children under 18 that they live with, as well as single adults living alone, can go inside one other household and even stay overnight without maintaining physical distancing.
You can only join with one other household and one household must be a single adult household.
This doesn’t apply to people who are shielding, who are meant to be isolating until the end of June apart from being able to meet one other person outside their home. If you are over 70 but don’t suffer from any underlying conditions, you can join with another household but are requested to take care and maintain some distance.
If any member of the support bubble developed coronavirus symptoms, all the members would have to follow the normal advice on household isolation.Follow us
